For Families
Process art is all about the experience children have while they’re creating. If it has a nice end product, that’s great, but the end product is NOT the focus of process art.  We will offer a variety of materials for you to create anything you would like. Some weeks it will be art supplies, some weeks it will be cardboard building & some weeks it will be technology.

START DATE POSTPONED! New Dates TBD.

In an abundance of caution, and following the recommendations from leading health officials to encourage 'social distancing' to help reduce the transmission of Covid-19, the Attleboro Public Library is cancelling and/or postponing all group events and meetings indefinitely. The Library shall re-evaluate this decision moving forward based upon any new developments that occur over the next few weeks.

Join us for a civil discussion of 8 timely topics for 2020 --

  • Climate Change and the Global Order - April 2
  • India and Pakistan - April 9
  • Red Sea Security - April 16
  • Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking - April 23
  • U.S. Relations with the Northern Triangle - April 30
  • China's Road into Latin America - May 7
  • The Philippines and the U.S. - May 14
  • Artificial Intelligence and Data - May 21

No prior knowledge or expertise is required to join the conversation. The only requirement is to read the topic overview in the Great Decisions Briefing Book prior to the weekly meeting. Each session will begin with a viewing of a 20 minute DVD that provides an overview of the topic to be discussed.

Learn more about this year's topics and the Great Decisions program by visiting the Foreign Policy Association's website.

Registration is required for this program. There is a $32 materials fee payable when you pick up your briefing book prior to the first session, or feel free to order your own copy via the FPA website. The 2020 edition will be available beginning in January. A Reference Copy is available for in-library use for participants who do not wish to purchase their own copy.

Threatened & Endangered Birds of Prey
6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

POSTPONED - NEW DATE TBD

In an abundance of caution, and following the recommendations from leading health officials to encourage 'social distancing' to help reduce the transmission of Covid-19, the Attleboro Public Library is cancelling and/or postponing all group events and meetings indefinitely. The Library shall re-evaluate this decision moving forward based upon any new developments that occur over the next few weeks.

Educators from Horizon Wings will explain what the classifications “threatened” and “endangered” really mean. The progam will feature an American Kestrel, a Peregrine Falcon, a Northern Saw-Whet Owl, a Barn Owl and a Bald Eagle. What caused the drastic decline of the Peregrine Falcon populations in North America in the 1960’s? Learn which species of raptors are currently on Massachusett’s threatened and endangered list and ways in which we can help to promote their survival.

Generously funded by Friends of Attleboro Public Library.

A Kitchen Table Conversation Attleboro
6:30 PM

This meeting is canceled. The Greater Attleboro Area Suicide Prevention Coalition (GAASPC) is sponsoring "A Kitchen Table Conversation Attleboro". This grief support group is for suicide loss survivors and will be facilitated by Lisa Jo Megna Mitchell.

"Grief comes in many forms. There's no "one size fits all." The Kitchen Table Conversations are coordinated by Safe Place certified facilitators under the auspices of the Bristol County Regional Coalition for Suicide Prevention. This get-together is open to anyone 19 and over who has been impacted by the loss of a loved one/friend/co-worker, etc., who died by suicide.

This is not clinical. It's peer to peer. If you are uncomfortable coming alone - and many are - bring a friend. That's not a problem. The doors are open to anyone in need of grief support."

Great Decisions Discussion Group
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

A Kitchen Table Conversation Attleboro
6:30 PM

A Kitchen Table Conversation Attleboro
6:30 PM

A Kitchen Table Conversation Attleboro
6:30 PM
