Who gets to be counted as "American" and why? How significant is the process of "Americanization" over generations? As we conclude our American Creed Community Conversations, Catholic Charities Maine Refugee and Immigration Services will be on hand to speak about their cultural orientation and mentoring programs and give first-hand accounts of what newcomers to America are asking about navigating daily life in the United States. Audience members can ask questions and share thoughts on what they see as the process of “Americanization.”
This program is co-sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). American Creed Community Conversations center around the American Creed documentary by WTTW and Citizen Film with major underwriting from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
