We welcome Animal Friends back to the library for our fall program lineup! Children will have the opportunity to meet and read aloud to an approved literacy cat or dog, hear stories and participate in a literacy activity. Readers of all ages and abilities are welcomed! Members of the Baldwin Board of Trustees are volunteers who donate their time and service to the library and it’s role in the community. The Board sets policy, fiscal goals and strategic direction in support of the Library’s mission and vision.
Baldwin Borough Public Library's Board of Trustees is composed of seven citizens of the community, appointed by Baldwin Borough Council. They serve 3-year terms and may be reappointed. The Board meets monthly at 7pm on the third Thursday of each month at the Library and all meetings are open to the public.

Every Heartbeat Counts Services (prior American Red Cross trainers) will host a babysitting/First Aid/CPR training course to help participants learn the responsibilities of babysitting, develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe, help manage behavior during babysitting and learn infant and child first aid and CPR. The cost is $70.00/registrant which includes a take-home training handbook, emergency reference guide, CD and wallet-sized certificate of completion. This training is available to anyone ages 11 and up. Please bring a lunch. Registration required. You may register online but must pay in person. Students in grades 2-5 can join Leah Younkins, BWSD Special Education Teacher and Registered Yoga Teacher, for a non-competitive 45 minute yoga class incorporating asana, breath work and a short meditation! Practice will be beginner friendly and fun! Class size will be limited to 12 students per class to provide individualized attention and instruction. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat/towel and water. Registration required for each class attending.

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join local artist Michelle and learn how to paint a 9x12 canvas piece of artwork! Techniques are taught using acrylic paint to create a take-home masterpiece ready to hang! Registration required for each class.

Ohio’s Amish Country, with its rich farmland, has developed a number of alternative agricultural businesses – one is vineyards. From the delicious food selections to the samplings of their grapes, we will have an amazing adventure.
Broad Run Cheese and Swiss Heritage Winery is a great way to begin our day with purchases of cheese and wine to enjoy. Lunch will be a feast at a local Amish home. Walnut Creek Cheese is a fabulous place to purchase bulk food items, spices, kitchen gadgets, meats and deli items. We will enjoy a wine tasting at Breitenbach Winery and Silver Moon Winery before heading home in a happy mood after a wonderful day in Amish Country!

Join us for an engaging and fun evening with 93.7 The Fan’s morning sports talk show host, Chris Mack. Before hosting the Fan’s morning show, Mack was the host of Pirates pre and post-game on the radio. Mack is a graduate of Baldwin High School and has won several A.I.R. Awards for excellence. Come ask questions, hear about his experiences and talk sports! No registration required.
Join us and an Allegheny County Parks Ranger in South Park after dark! Students will learn how to make a campfire and then enjoy the warmth as the rangers present a fireside program including nocturnal animals and star gazing. Participants will be able to make their own smores at the conclusion of the program as well as sing a few campfire songs! Geared to students in grades K-5, but all are welcome! Registration required and limited to 25 people.
