Shipwrecked with Mad Science

Inventing means necessity! This workshop for students in Grades 4-8 puts you on a deserted island and you must work together to invent means for collecting food and water.  This is a pirate-themed workshop where you will also design a boat to escape the island, just before the volcano erupts! Students will leave with their boat creations and a Mad Science eye patch! Reading has never tasted so good! In this beginning-to-cook class, young chefs will develop an appetite for nutritious foods while being introduced to books that reinforce social and academic skills. Experience new foods and new books! This program is geared to children preschool-grade 2, but all are welcome. Supplies needed for each class will be posted soon. Registration required for each class.

Wednesdays at 6:30 pm: October 18, November 15 (pumpkin roll) and December 20 (holiday cookies)

Library Board of Trustees Meeting

Members of the Baldwin Board of Trustees are volunteers who donate their time and service to the library and it’s role in the community. The Board sets policy, fiscal goals and strategic direction in support of the Library’s mission and vision.

Baldwin Borough Public Library's Board of Trustees is composed of seven citizens of the community, appointed by Baldwin Borough Council. They serve 3-year terms and may be reappointed. The Board meets monthly at 7pm on the third Thursday of each month at the Library and all meetings are open to the public.

Paws for a Cause with Animal Friends

We welcome Animal Friends back to the library for our fall program lineup! Children will have the opportunity to meet and read aloud to an approved literacy cat or dog, hear stories and participate in a literacy activity.  Readers of all ages and abilities are welcomed! Because all visits are on a volunteer basis, we ask all participants to bring along one item from the Animal Friends Supply Drive list which can be found here.  Registration required.
