We are trying something new that you’ve been asking for: a book group specifically geared to students in Grades 5-8! You don’t need to feel “committed,” just read and attend when you can! This book group will tackle topics you’ve asked about: body image, race, immigration, LGBTQ+ and more. Group goals are two-fold: place yourself in someone else’s shoes through the power of the author’s voice, and use your voice to express how you feel about the book, the characters, the topic or just anything on your mind! Simply register, pick a book up at the library, read (no worries if you don’t finish), then meet up at the library for some great snacks and cool conversation. Registration required.
Thursdays at 6:30 pm:
October 14 (Starfish by Lisa Fipps) - Book pickup begins September 13.
November 11 (Black Brother, Black Brother by Jewell Parker Rhodes) - Book pickup begins October 18
