Bouncing Babies and Books

This storytime, for babies birth-24 months, will include a book, lots of singing, some musical instruments, and a lot of fun for you and your baby! It’s a great way to spend time with your little one while meeting new caregivers or meeting up with old friends. This program is held year-round, every Tuesday morning at 10:30 am. No registration required.

Cleveland Culinary Day Trip

Depart for Cleveland’s fabulous West Side Market in the Ohio City District. This is the oldest market of its kind in the U.S., featuring ethnic Cuisine, baked goods, fresh meats, cheeses and so much more!  Free time to shop.  Enjoy lunch at CROP (Creative Restaurant Operations Platform), located in a beautiful restored bank building across for the market.  After lunch we will depart for Little Italy, drive through Lakeview Cemetery, which is the resting place of John D. Rockefeller, Elliot Ness and many others. Before departing for home, we will enjoy a complimentary gelato or pastry in Little Italy.  Please register with full payment by March 31, 2017.

Summer Teen Volunteer Training

Battle of the Books - Junior Division (grades 4-5)

Battle of the Books encourages reading for students from Baldwin, Whitehall and surrounding schools.  Participants organize teams of up to 5 students, read from a list of preselected book titles and engage in a friendly competition answering questions based on the books.  Registration forms and booklists will be available at Baldwin or Whitehall Libraries, school libraries and on our website.  Adult team managers may register teams at Baldwin or Whitehall Public Library by Friday, April 7.

Library Board of Trustees Meeting

Members of the Baldwin Board of Trustees are volunteers who donate their time and service to the library and it’s role in the community. The Board sets policy, fiscal goals and strategic direction in support of the Library’s mission and vision.

Baldwin Borough Public Library's Board of Trustees is composed of seven citizens of the community, appointed by Baldwin Borough Council. They serve 3-year terms and may be reappointed. The Board meets monthly at 7pm on the third Thursday of each month at the Library and all meetings are open to the public.

Remake Learning Days

Join us at the library as we take part in Remake Learning Days! Introductory sewing machine skills will be taught to young makers (grades K-5) through the process of creating their own apron.  Students will have the opportunity to select and cut their fabric as well as trim, work with patterns, learn basic sewing techniques and learn how to safely and properly operate a sewing machine. Registration required.

We’re all Neighbors! A Community Culture Festival

Celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the Baldwin, Brentwood and Whitehall communities at a FREE, family-friendly open house full of entertainment, music, and food.  Learn about the culture and traditions of the nations and ethnic groups that make up our neighborhoods; speak with area service providers about their specific roles in support of local diversity; and taste traditional foods from different nations at our multi-cultural potluck.
