Join us for an evening of jazz including a selection from the Great American Song Book, some light rock, movie and show themes and even a little “doo-wop” sprinkled in.  

These musicians have many years of experience playing multiple styles of music, from classical to rhythm, swing, big band and pop.

Lecture: Making Astronomy Photos From Our Backyards

The library will be hosting an astrophotography exhibit during the month of September. Some of the local astrophotographers responsible for the exhibit photos will discuss their personal experiences with the hobby they love and hate so much. The lecture will go over the complexities inherent with taking long exposures of deep space objects while our earth is spinning on its axis. The lecturers will also discuss the basics of how they create these amazing pictures from the method for taking the pictures through the whole post processing sequence.

Lizzie Borden: The Mystery Continues

Lizzie Borden: The Mystery Continues is a one-hour, in depth retelling of the famous double homicide. Extensive research utilizing archival materials, period newspapers and period photographs has been done to create an entertaining, fascinating and informative presentation about America’s favorite “Who done it?”

Christopher Daley, a history teacher in the Silver Lake Regional School System in Kingston, MA, has been lecturing in New England for over 25-years on historical topics of interest.  He holds a B.A. and a M.A. from Bridgewater State University in Political Science and History.

Registration required.   Appropriate for ages 10 and up.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Blackstone Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

The Kenn Morr Band is an original Alternative Folk Rock band from northwest Connecticut featuring the original songs of Kenn Morr. Known for its close three-part vocal harmonies and fiery instrumental interplay, the Kenn Morr Band has been together for many years, becoming fast favourites on the outdoor festival scene.
