Wake up Your Thyroid- Naturally Improve Thyroid, Energy and Metabolism

- Have you been diagnosed with a malfunctioning thyroid?

- Do you think you have a thyroid problem, even if your blood work says differently?

- Are problems with your thyroid affecting your weight, sleep, or energy levels?

Research shows that more than 12 percent of the United States population will develop a thyroid condition during their lifetime.  An estimated 20 million Americans have some form of thyroid disease.  Undiagnosed thyroid problems puts patients at risk for certain serious conditions including cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, depression, and even infertility.  The only solution seems to be medications that will only, at best, give temporary relief.  Help can be found within a few simple steps.

Join us as Dr. David DeRosa, D.C., Clinical Nutritionist will discuss;

·     Why half of all thyroid disorders go misdiagnosed

·     The two missing nutritional links no one talks about

·     Learn simple steps you can take to promote balance in your thyroid

Jazz Vocalist Giacomo Gates in Concert

Marlene VerPlanck, who was to have performed at the Cheshire Public Library this Sunday January 21, passed away suddenly on January 14, 2018.

Thanks to the help of some of Marlene’s colleagues, we have an extraordinary talented replacement for Sunday’s concert in jazz vocalist Giacomo Gates.  Gates will be accompanied by Marlene’s sidemen, bassist Jeff Fuller and pianist Darren Litzie. Gates and the trio will perform jazz classics and music from the Great American Songbook.

Heavily steeped in the traditions of the original vocal improvisers from Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, Giacomo's own approach draws most heavily from the bebop-rooted masters like Jon Hendricks, Babs Gonzales, King Pleasure and most of all, Eddie Jefferson. Gates has performed at major clubs and concert venues all over the country, released eight acclaimed CDs, and teaches regularly at Wesleyan University, the Hartford Conservatory of Music and New Haven's Neighborhood Music School.

Marlene was a lovely woman with an extraordinary voice and exquisite musical taste and will be missed by countless fans and friends around the world.  For more information on Marlene, please see her website.

Movement For Your Busy Life

In this fast-paced world it seems impossible to fit in any kind of exercise or movement into our work day. Many of us are chained to the desk, phone or computer and are buried under an ever-growing Inbox. However, a little movement can rejuvenate the mind and body and actually increase productivity without increasing the number of work hours. In this session. Mary Hurley, holistic health coach and certified personal trainer, will teach you a series of breathing techniques, stretching and strengthening movements that can be done throughout your work day with no need for equipment.

A special thank you to the Friends of the Library for their funding.
