Watercolor Painting for Kids @ Hall

Recommended for 0-2 yrs,this 20-minute storytime features lots of rhymes, fingerplays, and songs--perfect for the youngest children. It is offered at 2 convenient times. A room on the lower level of the library will be set up for playtime with age-appropriate toys and board books while rhymes, songs, and a story will be read at 11:00 in the picture book alcove on the library's main level, followed by a craft suited to little hands. No registration is required, drop-ins are welcome!*

The Rhode Island Children's Book Award Book Club for grades 3-5 meets one Monday a month, from 4-5 PM at the Central Library. The first meeting will be on Oct. 21. Subsequent meetings dates are: Nov. 18, Dec. 16, Jan. 13 and Feb. 10.

At each meeting, we discuss 4 of this year's nominees, tied to one theme. Children can read one or more book for each session. In February, members of the club will vote for their favorite title.

Free copies of the book will be available for those who sign up, at the program we will discuss the book and learn a little about the author.
