Fantastic Book Club - Building a Better World
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Image result for save me a seatKids in Grades 3-7, join us for the Fantastic Book Club: Building a Better World! On the second Wednesday of the month from 4 - 5 pm, we'll discuss a different book, involving everything from compassion to robots. Be prepared for a lively discussion! Copies of each month's selected book will be available at the Youth Services Desk.

On May 10, we will discuss Save Me a Seat by Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan. It's the story of two boys from very different worlds. Ravi has just moved to the United States from India and has always been at the top of his class; Joe has lived in the same town his whole life and has learning problems--but when their lives intersect in the first week of fifth grade they are brought together by a common enemy (the biggest bully in their class) and the need to take control of their lives. This is the 2017 Kids Read Across Rhode Island selection. Kids will have the opportunity to meet the authors, and get a free autographed copy of the book, at the kickoff event held at the RI State House on Saturday, May 13.

Registration for book club is required. Please stop by the Youth Services desk or call 401-943-9080 ext. 4 to register, or for more information.
