JANE AUSTEN DAY CELEBRATION

Timeless author Jane Austen was born on December 16th, 1775. This year marks the  243rd  anniversary of Jane's birth. Celebrate with us! We'll enjoy dessert and tea and watch Sense and Sensibility

starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, which is considered one of the best adaptations of Jane Austen's novels.

Ugly Holiday Sweater Week
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Celebrate Ugly Holiday Sweater Week with all of us at the Ridley Township Public Library as we all don our best Ugly Sweaters!  Holiday programs all week including crafts and scavenger hunts! 

Any patron that comes into the library from 12/17-12/21 wearing their holiday sweater will receive a FREE DVD RENTAL!  It all winds up on Friday, December 21st with a Holiday Movie Day!  Popcorn provided!  

On Friday, December 21st, Holiday Movie Day, we'll show The Muppet Christmas Carol at 10:30 am

MEDITATION MONDAY

Come to the library and learn about simple and effective Meditation techniques. When practiced regularly,

these can help reduce anxiety and stress and provide a sense of inner calm. Rich Conti, from the Schoolhouse Center Meditation Group,

will be the facilitator for the sessions. Meditation Mondays will take place in the Quiet Room in the new library.

Holiday Cheer with the Aging at Home Program
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Join us to learn about the Aging at Home Program, which connects seniors to services that help them to stay in their own homes.

A panel of current users of the Aging at Home Program will join director Christine Helmandollar, to share with attendees how much the program means

to them, and how much it has helped them. Dessert and punch will be served at this event.

The Aging at Home Program offers chore assistance, handyman services, door to door transportation, health and wellness programs. It helps people 60 years of age

and older in the Ridley and Lansdowne areas to stay healthy, maintain their own homes and remain independent.

This is a Health Literacy Program of the PA Forward Initiative.

Attention all book lovers! Ridley Township Library has a monthly book club, which is always happy to have new members. We meet on the last Wednesday of the month to discuss popular fiction, and occasionally, non-fiction. Books are provided by the library, and are distributed at each meeting.

Free Holiday Concert

Join Vincent James and Friends for a free holiday concert at Ridley Township Library. Vincent and several other performers will sing your favorite holiday tunes! Vincent, who is the founder

of Keep Music Alive, an organization founded to promote the value of music in our lives, has hosted several very successful concerts at our library. Light refreshments will be served at the concert, which

HISTORY OF MOTOWN, PART 2

program in the fall, you'll enjoy returning to hear him sing more songs from the many talented Motown artists. If you haven't been to one of
