MOVIE: Rear Window

Rear Window

Tuesday, December 10

Rated PG for some violence.  112 minutes. 1954. Mystery. Thriller. Romance.

Adventuresome professional photography Jeff Jefferies is confined to a wheelchair in his Greenwich Village apartment, where he becomes convinced that a neighbor has committed murder. As he watches all of the apartments on his courtyard, the movie exposes many facets of loneliness of city life. The film’s script is razor sharp and the banter between the main characters was wonderful. Jeff’s girlfriend, Lisa Fairmont has a luminous screen presence and the nurse adds volumes as the comical actor.  The film’s framing and camerawork is legendary and is considered the most entertaining and successful pictures ever made by Alfred Hitchcock. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

Cast: James Stewart, Alfred Hitchcock, Grace Kelly, Thelma Ritter, Raymond Burr, Wendell Corey, Judith Evelyn. Costumes by Edith Head.

MOVIES ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
