MOVIE: The Shawshank Redemption

The Shawshank Redemption

Friday, June 21 at 2:30pm

Rated R for language and some violence. 142 minutes. 1994. Drama.

Two imprisoned men a hot-shot banker bond over a number of years, finding solace and redemption through acts of common decency. Andy Dufresne is sent to Shawshank Prison on a murder charge, where he gets to know a life-term prisoner named Red Redding. Andy's calm, quiet exterior hides a great reserve of patience and fortitude, and Red comes to admire this mild-mannered man who first struck him as weak and unfit for prison life. This prison drama defies the conventions of the genre of violence, brutality, and riots to illustrate its theme of faith, friendship, and survival. A very inspiring movie based on the work of Stephen King.

Cast: Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, James Whitmore, Bob Gunton.

MOVIES ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. NO TICKETS ARE REQUIRED.
