Virtual: Sheryl Faye Presents Susan B Anthony

Susan B. Anthony - Failure is Impossible, performed by Sheryl Faye. Susan B. Anthony was a women’s rights activist, and she devoted her life to racial, gender, and educational equality. She is one of the most famous women in American history, she played a prominent role in the women’s suffrage movement; the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote and she also was in support of women’s labor organizations and for a woman’s right to own property. In 2020 we celebrate not only 100 years since the ratification of the 19th Amendment, we’re also celebrating Susan B. Anthony’s 200th birthday! Sheryl Faye is a full-time actress, a goal she has worked her whole live to achieve. Besides performing a variety of historical women for schools, libraries, historical societies, senior centers, and others, she also writes and performs with StageCoach Improv. She has been the voice of several characters for Sony Play Station games and for a variety of medical CD ROMS. Author Deborah Felder: The American Women's Almanac

Celebrate the vital roles and vibrant experiences of women in America! The most complete and affordable single-volume reference on women’s history available today, The American Women’s Almanac: 500 Years of Vitality, Triumph and Excellence is a unique and valuable resource devoted to illustrating the moving and often lost history of women in America. It is a fascinating mix of biographies, little-known or misunderstood historical facts, enlightening essays on significant legislation and movements, and numerous photographs and illustrations. Honoring and celebrating achievements from the First Nations women and the French Huguenot Women of Fort Caroline to the unprecedented number of ethnically diverse women running for modern office, it provides insights on the long-ignored influence, inspiration, and impact of women on U.S. society and culture.

Author and South Chatham resident Deborah G. Felder was born in New York City and grew up in Northport, NY. A graduate of Bard College, she was an actor, a teacher, and an editor at Scholastic, Inc. before becoming a full-time freelance writer. She is the author of books chronicling influential women, literary works by women, and women’s history. Besides The American Women’s Almanac, these include A Century of Women: the Most Influential Events in Twentieth-Century Women’s History; A Bookshelf of Our Own: Must-Reads for Women; and The 100 Most Influential Women of All Time. The co-author with her husband, English professor Daniel S. Burt, of The Handy Literature Answer Book, she has also published fiction and nonfiction for young readers, including adaptations of the classic novels Anne of Green Gables and The Three Musketeers.
