Join Miss Karen for a Storytime Field Trip to Crazy Daisies! Miss Karen will host a fun, musical storytime at Crazy Daisies, followed by a fun morning activity. Families will plant a flower / pot and enjoy a tour and lemonade/snack. Please register. Registration is required to attend. Making the most of your life
- How does the awareness of death teach us about life?
- What three words come to mind when you hear the words "death" and "dying"?
- What is your ideal legacy and how do you leave a legacy?
This class is presented in a discussion- style format.
Our presenter is Susan Sweeney. After watching the effect of her father dying on her three siblings and herself, Ms. Sweeney understood that each was grieving in different ways. This led her to becoming a certified End of Life Doula. This training prepared her to provide end of life planning as well as non-medical care for those dying and their loved ones. American Senior Benefits will be presenting "Understanding Medicare 101". Please bring your questions, and the presenter, Barbara Ackerman, will answer anything you may need to know about Medicare. Please register. We will repeat this presentation in May.

The FCL is starting up a teen volunteer club for any interested teens 13-17 that want to get involved in community efforts at the library, or have volunteer hours they need to fill. Register for a STEM kit and stop in on Monday to pick it up and take the fun and learning home with you! These hands-on learning activities make spring break so fun! Best for ages 7-10 years.

Stop in to the FCL for free play in the Children's Room. We will have Spring and Easter coloring sheets out, magnatiles and special play stations, along with our regular imaginative play stations. Join us for a fun morning of play. Registration not required.

Tweens and teens can come to FCL to create and color artistic designs on wooden Easter/ Spring eggs that light up! A cool decoration for your home. Enjoy a visit from Go Team Therapy dogs. Pet the pups, relax and hang out! Snacks provided.

Come to FCL and decorate wooden eggs and make a few Easter crafts. This event is for children ages 7-10 years old with advanced level crafts for big kids. Not suitable for preschool aged children. Please register and list your childs age. Registration is required.

Join staff from Cornell Cooperative Extension to create and then taste a new recipe: fruit pizza! Learn new cooking skills, all about MyPlate, and the five food groups and how they help us to be heathy and strong! For kids ages 7 - 10 years. Registration required.

Families can come to FCL and enjoy a matinee showing of Peter Rabbit, enjoy popcorn.

Each month the Fairmount Community Library offers patrons a chance to register for a free Recipe in a Jar. Take one home and make the recipe and then share it with family and friends. Share pictures with us. Miss Karen makes a video each month of her recipe on the library Instagram account. This is just one way we want to connect with our patrons and community through the long winter months. January - soup, February - sweet treats, March - quick bread, April - spring cookies! Space is limited, registration is required.

FCL Zumba dance classes will features high- and low-intensity intervals that help improve cardiovascular fitness while also enhancing balance, coordination, agility, and to some degree, strength through the application of beginner-accessible choreography.
Classes typically consist of Latin-inspired songs, starting with a slower warm-up song, building intensity throughout the workout, and ending with a cool-down song. Even if you're not a strong dancer, the choreography is repetitive and designed to be built upon, so most people will catch on to the moves as they go.
This class is best for beginners or those looking to move and have fun. Register to save your spot!

We have partnered with the Student Environmental Education Coalition (SEEC) at SUNY-ESF for a fun, hands-on nature lesson followed by free play in the park. Make friends and learn about the natural world around us. Registration is required. This program is best for ages 5-10 years and siblings are welcome. In case of inclement weather, the program would be moved to the library community room and library staff will email all registered participants.

We are going to host a spectacular Earth Day event on April 21st from 4-6pm and we need your help! FCL welcomes an educator from the Museum of Science and Technology for an evening program for chidlren ages 6-10. With the summer learning theme of All Together Now, the presentation will be all about the systems of the human body, since they work all together to allow the human body to function.
