Tweens and teens are invited to join Matt the "Animal Man" for a Basic Wilderness Survival Course!
Matt "Animal Man" Gabriel began developing a love of the outdoors as a young child. When he was 11 years old, his father bought him a survival manual (Tom Brown's Field Guide To Wilderness Survival), and so began Matt's lifelong obsession with survival skills. Matt began practicing and trying to duplicate everything from the book that he could on weekends and after school. As an adult, Matt attended two week-long professional survival courses that proved instrumental in forming the core of his survival repertoire. He then spent years increasing his knowledge and experience level by practicing and experimenting on a daily basis. In 2015, Matt felt the calling to begin teaching so began posting videos on YouTube. Today he travels throughout New England sharing his skills.
For ages 10-15. Registration begins June 21. Please come into the Youth Library to register for this program.

Join us in the Youth Garden as Masterstoryteller Todd Goodwin regales as with Songs and Stories from around the Campfire.
Mr. Goodwin began his career as a story teller while a camper, C.I.T., counselor and director of Camp Monomonac in Rindge, NH. Around the campfire there are no loudspeakers, costumes or sets, just the face and voice of the teller who uses the imagination of the listeners to travel to different places in time and space. Mr. Goodwin creates many of the stories he tells from his camping background and growing up as a New England Yankee. He adds to his repertoire from literature and his experience as a teacher of drama and history and the blessings and challenges of everyday life. He sings and plays the harmonica to create a complete “campfire” experience that can be enjoyed by children of all ages, anywhere people gather, indoor or out.
