Books & Lunch with Deborah Wiles

Deborah Wiles is a Southerner who grew up in Jasper County, Mississippi and in the Air Force. Today she writes with great love and humor about her Mississippi kin and her childhood. She is the author of picture books and novels for readers young and old, including the beloved Love, Ruby Lavender and Each Little Bird That Sings, a 2005 National Book Award finalist. 

She is the pioneer of the documentary novel in a trilogy about the 1960s. Book 1 is Countdown. Bood 2, Revolution, is a 2014 National Book Award finalist.

Deborah teaches writing in schools and workshops around the country, and writes from Atlanta, Georgia.

Lunch will be served, so please contact the library to pre-register.
