Dress yourself in fitting pirate attire and take part in an evening filled with fun and activities enough to satisfy any scurvy dog! The night will include a treasure hunt for lost booty hidden throughout the library led by Captain Jack Sparrow himself, pirate songs and sea shanties presented by musicians Julie & Brownie, face painting, crafts and more. Best be on the lookout for Seymour the Sea Monster, who will be lurking in the library as well. Prizes will be awarded to the best male and female pirate outfits of the evening!  Made possible by a generous grant from the Fall River Women's Union.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese form of self-defense that has evolved into a gentle yet challenging series of movements that promote balance, stress reduction, and flexibility. The practice incorporates flowing, continual movement that is low-impact and can work for all ages and fitness levels. This four-class series will introduce you to Tai Chi. It's suitable for beginners and those wishing to continue or resume their practice. The class will meet on four consecutive Thursday nights, and people may attend  any or all of the four sessions. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in. 

Our teacher is Kelley Brophy, an experienced wellness coach, fitness trainer, and Tai Chi instructor. This series is sponsored by the Friends of the Fall River Public Library and is free and open to all.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese form of self-defense that has evolved into a gentle yet challenging series of movements that promote balance, stress reduction, and flexibility. Our South Branch Craft Circle is back! We're moving back to Saturdays, from 2-4:30 pm. Bring your crochet or knitting, quilting, weaving, beading -- any small craft that's easily portable. Bring your colored pencils if you want -- we do coloring, too! All ages are welcome, but you must bring your own craft supplies.
