Make a Snowflake Charm Bracelet /Meeting Room

Celebrate the winter months with this cool (get it?!) craft! Create these frosty-looking bracelets using a variety of faux crystal beads and metal snowflake and snowman charms. Following the craft, children are invited to watch the12-minute animated film, Brave Irene, based upon the children's book by William Stieg. It tells the story of a courageous little girl who braves a winter storm in order to deliver a dress.

Recommended for ages 5 and up.

The South Branch Library invites fans of 50s and 60s rock & roll to a series of lectures on Thursday afternoons (with the exception of the third Thursday of the month). 

Duncan Holmes, rock & roll trivia expert, will play the tunes that changed a nation and share insights into the singers and bands that created them. Hear every record that reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 from 1955 to 1967, and the stories behind them. Dancing optional!

Artist Gregory Maichack leads a pastel painting workshop, "Monet's Magic: Pastel Paint Monet's Wondrous Water Lilies." Greg recently returned from a visit to France where he studied the Masters and was inspired to produce his newest workshop. Painters will learn all the necessary strokes and techniques to produce an Impressionist pastel painting and an effect Monet prized the most, Impressionist Shimmer.

In this true crime book, investigative reporter Boyle tells the story of a case that has haunted New England for thirty years--the worst serial killing case in Massachusetts since the Boston Strangler.
