Mystery Puzzles! / Children's Room

The MYSTERY PUZZLES are back! Ready to tease, challenge and tantalize your brain! Each week the Children's Room will be offering an all new selection of mystery puzzles for children to solve.

Children can pick up their puzzle bags during a library visit, or parents can arrange for curbside pickup by calling 508-324-2700, ext. 4.

Stories on the Lawn /Elm Street Lawn

Spread out your blanket, bring some snacks and enjoy a morning of fun stories on the Elm Street lawn! Each Tuesday morning will feature a different theme with children receiving a take-home craft at the end of the session.

Recommended for ages 3 and up. All storytimes will be held outdoors. We plan to set up a STORY TENT, so these programs will go on, rain or shine!

Love to read? Looking for a small group of fellow readers to chat about books with? Join us for our first in-person meeting of the Library Book Club! We will meet on the third Wednesday of each month to talk about both fiction and nonfiction books and share reading recommendations. We will choose one book to discuss as a group each month, but also share individual reviews.

For those who can't make the in-person meeting or prefer to participate online, we will offer a simultaneous online option. If you prefer to meet online, let us know when you register so we can send you a link to join the online meeting.

This group is recommended for adults who enjoy reading a variety of books across different genres.

Paint Your Own Sugar Skull!

Join us outside on the Elm Street lawn and paint your very own sugar skull!  These spooky scary decorations are usually put out close to Dia de los Muertos in November, but can be found all year round!

On Tuesday, June 22 & Tuesday, June 29, 2021, Fall River Public Library will hold a series of two in-person creative writing workshops for kids ages 10-14. The workshops will run from 6pm-7pm. Both programs are free! Online registration is recommended.

Writing Group

This group is open to teen & tween writers of all skill levels and styles who love creating worlds with their words. We will talk about what makes a good story, introduce writing terms and elements, and learn how to apply them to our own writing. We will also create short works based on writing prompts and share our creative thoughts with one another, as well as discuss how to provide respectful criticism and why it is important for becoming a better writer.

Kids are welcome to attend one or both workshops. We hope that you can join us and we look forward to learning and writing with you!

Rainforest Reptile Show / Library's Front Lawn

Join us for the kick-off of our 2021 summer reading club, Tails and Tales!, with a visit from some exotic creatures from the jungles of the rainforest! Rainforest Reptile Shows is a hands-on, traveling animal show that engages children of all ages. Will Parker is a songwriter and teaching artist who writes and performs music for "kids 1 to 100."  During Will's whimsical and interactive shows, he plays guitar and harmonica tunes that engage his audience to get up and dance or just tap their toes to the music!
