Mystery Books for Community Services

Earn community service by wrapping and decorating books for the Garden City Public Library’s Tweens and Teens Department’s Mystery Book Display!

Each volunteer will receive a bag of 5 books to wrap at home; the paper used to wrap the books should then be decorated by drawing, coloring, and writing positive or library/book themed messages. Volunteers must provide their own wrapping supplies. Volunteers should not use regular wrapping paper unless they are able to still draw, write, or color somewhere on the paper they are using to wrap.

These books will then be used as part of our Tweens and Teens Mystery Book Display, in which tweens and teens can take a mystery book home with them – to keep as a gift!

To participate, please register online via Eventkeeper (www.gardencitypl.org) beginning Tuesday, January 26 at 10AM.

Registration is ongoing until March 26 and more slots will be added as books become available, so check Eventkeeper regularly.

Registrants will be asked to pick up their bag of books at the library in order to participate in this community service program.

Volunteers must return 5 decorated and wrapped books in order to receive community service.
