Summer Reading Kick-Off: Imagine Your Story; Myths Legends & Fairy Tales

 Imagine Your Story-- Myths Legends and Fairytales abound in our Summer Reading Program! We'll stay safe this summer and still have some "legendary" fun: exciting virtual performances by amazing entertainers like Magician Joel Tacy, and Medieval &  Renaissance Weaponry & Techniques of Stage Fighting by Ring of Steel, "Take-Out" Crafts like Dragons, Flower Crown, and DreamCatchers to make at home, virtual FairyTale storytimes, virtual Myths & Legends and great prizes for reading all summer long!  Visit our website to sign up for a "Legendary" summer of reading fun!!  Myths, Legends, and Fairytales await!

SRP Registration Information: This year, you can choose one of three ways to participate! You can choose to: 

  1. Go completely virtual--register on line and then log your reading on-line too with our Wandoo Reader! 
  2. Paper forms at home--Print out and fill in a paper form to register, then print out color-saving copies of our Reading Logs 
  3. Paper forms from the library--when the library is open, you can pick up copies of our registration and log your reading.

Cabin Fever Conversations: Gardening with MSU Extension

MSU Extension presents “Cabin Fever Conversations”-- lighthearted, educational conversations about gardening. Each session features a guest with a specialty like seeds, houseplants, pollinator health, etc. Have a question? There will be a Q&A at the end. We'll be using Zoom for these conversations. More details about how to use Zoom and join the session are below. Click the Register link to reach the registration page. Each session will be under one hour. Take a break from your cabin fever and join!

Make a Fire Breathing Dragon With a Take-Home Craft Kit!

Imagine Your Story and bring a mythical creature from legend to life! Use your artistic talents and creativity to create your own "Fire Breathing Dragon" Take-Home Craft with supplies from the library! At 3pm on June 29, we'll host a ZOOM presentation on Fire Breathing Dragons, tell the legends and make one step-by-step with you.

Imagine Your Story and bring a mythical creature from legend to life! Use your artistic talents and creativity to create your own "Fire Breathing Dragon" Take-Home Craft with supplies from the library! At 3pm on June 29, we'll host a ZOOM presentation on Fire Breathing Dragons, tell the legends and make one step-by-step with you.

First--Register for this program using the form:

Next-- come to the library to pick up your Take-Home Craft kit, with materials you'll  to build your Fire-Breathing Dragon.

Then--Join us at a ZOOM meeting to build this craft together and to Hear Myths and legends of the dragon  as we assemble our dragons in a fun storytelling atmosphere. One “Dragon” craft per registered participant.

Fire Breathing Dragon Craft Kits:

Due to the limited number of craft kits available, you must register for this activity  to make the craft with one of our FREE kits. Please register for this presentation by June 24, and pick up your Fire Breathing Dragon Take Home Craft kits at GLADL from noon on June 25 to 4 pm on June 28. The link to Create a Fire Breathing Dragon will be active on our Website so you can watch and craft at a later date as well.
