Diabetes PATH Virtual Workshop

Join facilitators from the Tri-County Office on Aging (TCOA) for a virtual Workshop for those managing the challenges of diabetes

Diabetes PATH (Personal Action Toward Health) is designed for people with diabetes or pre-diabetes. The workshop includes diabetes education in an interactive style. Participants are taught effective tools to better self-manage their condition and its impact on their life.

Meet at GLADL Tuesdays at 11 am and follow the little red wagon to the Trinity Episcopal Church playground for a family storytime filled with stories, songs, and activities! An outdoor, sunshiney, playdate summer story-time for children (and their caregivers) with summery activities. Open to children of all ages. We'll observe safe social distancing. Rain location: 1931 Room – Stories to be told rain or shine!

Coding and computer science are a new kind of digital literacy, and libraries all over the U.S. are stepping up to help everyone build 21st century skills.  Come join our very own Code Club -- No coding expertise necessary.  Your kids can learn important tech skills and have fun along the way. They’ll work on learning how to make websites, video games, apps, animations, and more! Code Club will meet every Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Shipman Room. Every few weeks we’ll host a coding showcase.  For ages 8-18.  Code Club is made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services

This is a drop-in event -- no need to register or worry about catching up to other coders -- everybody works at their own speed and the goal is fun and collaboration.  You will be coding before you know it.

Meet at GLADL Tuesdays at 11 am and follow the little red wagon to the Trinity Episcopal Church playground for a family storytime filled with stories, songs, and activities! An outdoor, sunshiney, playdate summer story-time for children (and their caregivers) with summery activities. Open to children of all ages. We'll observe safe social distancing. Learn to Play Ukulele!

Learn the basics of a fun new instrument—Ukulele!

TCOA Virtual Workshop: Chronic Pain PATH

Join facilitators from the Tri-County Office on Aging (TCOA) for a virtual workshop for those facing the challenge of Chronic Pain 

Chronic Pain PATH (Personal Action Toward Health) is designed for individuals with chronic pain. In this virtual workshop, participants are taught effective tools to better self-manage their condition and its impact on their life. We address a variety of topics including fatigue management,dealing with difficult emotions, and pacing & planning. Includes the MovingEasy Program: safe exercises to improve strength, flexibility, and endurance. This workshop is offered Tuesdays, August 18 – September 22, 2020 from 10:00 am – 12 noon. Open for you to join at any time during this series. The workshop is free of charge but donations are accepted. Suggested donation is $25 but it is not required. Meet at GLADL Tuesdays at 11 am and follow the little red wagon to the Trinity Episcopal Church playground for a family storytime filled with stories, songs, and activities! An outdoor, sunshiney, playdate summer story-time for children (and their caregivers) with summery activities. Open to children of all ages. We'll observe safe social distancing. Coding and computer science are a new kind of digital literacy, and libraries all over the U.S. are stepping up to help everyone build 21st century skills.  Come join our very own Code Club -- No coding expertise necessary.  Your kids can learn important tech skills and have fun along the way. They’ll work on learning how to make websites, video games, apps, animations, and more! Code Club will meet every Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Shipman Room. Every few weeks we’ll host a coding showcase.  For ages 8-18.  Code Club is made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services

This is a drop-in event -- no need to register or worry about catching up to other coders -- everybody works at their own speed and the goal is fun and collaboration.  You will be coding before you know it.

Bring your creation to the Grand Ledge Area District Library by August 29th for display in the month of September.

Please Note: Your LEGO creations must be your original creation, not a LEGO kit build, and must fit into a 1'x1' space. Make sure to give your creation a name!
