Play Jackbox Games: Quiplash XL

Join us (virtually) to play a few games of Quiplash XL by Jackbox Games. Quiplash pits two players' against each other to answer humorous prompts like: “What's something you'd be surprised to see a donkey do?”  Other players and the audience then vote for their favorite answer. The player whose answer receives the most votes wins!

We will play via Zoom and the jackbox.tv website. Two screens are required- one to see the game and one to act as a controller. We find it works best with a computer for viewing the game and a phone or tablet for a controller.

1. Check the GLADL Facebook page at 6:00 pm for the Zoom link and Jackbox room code.  It will also be added to this event listing.

2. Open Zoom on your primary screen.

3. Go to jackbox.tv on the device you are using as a game controller and enter the room code.

4. Give the best answers, get the most laughs, and have (PG please) fun!

Jackbox Games: Fibbage 2

Join us (virtually) to play a few games of Fibbage 2! Fibbage is the lying, bluffing, fib-till-you-win multiplayer trivia party game from the makers of YOU DON'T KNOW JACK! Play with 2-8 players! Fool your friends with your lies, avoid theirs, and find the (usually outrageous) truth. And get this: your phone or tablet is your controller!

Virtual Poetry Workshop: Writing the Land with Dr. Laura Apol, Lansing’s Poet Laureate

Stretch your creativity in this two-part poetry workshop, led by Lansing’s current Poet Laureate, Dr. Laura Apol. Laura is an associate professor of literacy, literature and creative writing in the MSU College of Education. Laura feels “Poems are about community—So much of a place, and people in a place, can be expressed and understood through poetry.”

In this workshop, participants will look at models of "place" poetry in the first week, with some writing done in the workshop and a prompt to take home; the second meeting will have additional in-session writing, with an opportunity to share writing resulting from the take-home prompt from the previous session. Since workshop sessions build on one another, participants are requested to commit to both workshops when they register. Age group: Older teens and adults.

Please register by Feb.8,  using the form availble, below. A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants to join us at the Zoom Meeting.

Zoom has helpful video tutorials about how to connect   Other important meeting controls (like mute, camera, etc.)

Jackbox Games: Quiplash XL

Virtual Poetry Workshop: Writing the Land with Dr. Laura Apol, Lansing’s Poet Laureate

Stretch your creativity in this two-part poetry workshop, led by Lansing’s current Poet Laureate,Dr.

Please register by Feb. 8, using the form that appears on the February 13 event listing. A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants to join us at the Zoom Meeting.

Zoom has helpful video tutorials about how to connect

Other important meeting controls (like mute, camera, etc.)
