Join STEM Beginnings for a 6-week virtual series for children, ages 3-6. Children will learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments.
This is an interactive class using Zoom and parents/caregivers are encouraged to help their child. A list of materials for families to prepare for each class will be provided weekly.

A minimum of eight families are required in order for the class to be held. If we do not receive the minimum number of registrants, this event may be canceled. A valid email address is required to register for all Grafton Public Library programs. A Zoom link will be sent to each registrant no later than twenty-four hours before the event is scheduled. If you are unable to attend, please call the Grafton Public Library at 508-839-4649.
Siblings are welcome. Only one registration is required per family.
The “Young Scientists” series is sponsored by the YMCA Family & Community Partnership (YFCP), which is a Massachusetts Coordinated Family & Community Engagement (CFCE) Grant funded by the Department of Early Education and Care and awarded to the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.

Join us on Slack (see instructions below) for an online discussion of Creativity Rules: Get Ideas Out of Your Head and Into the World, by Tina Seelig, available in Hoopla, as an eBook.
Description: "International bestselling author and Stanford University professor Tina Seelig adapts her wildly popular creativity course to a practical guide on how to put your best ideas into action. In Creativity Rules, she shares this wisdom, offering inspiration and guidance to transform ideas into reality. Readers will learn how to work through the four steps of The Invention Cycle: Imagination (envisioning things that do not yet exist), Creativity (applying your imagination to address a challenge), Innovation (applying creativity to generate unique solutions), and Entrepreneurship (applying innovation, to bring ideas to fruition, where our ideas then gain the power to inspire the imaginations of others). Using each step to build upon the last, you can create something much complex, interesting, and powerful."
