This program, presented by professional genealogist Bryna O’Sullivan, will introduce attendees to the basics of the census, church record keeping and the notaries. Suggestions for navigating French language records will be discussed.

This presentation will be done through Zoom. Registrants will be emailed a link to the meeting and handouts a day ot two prior to the presentation.

I Have a Dream 2020

On August 28th, the Groton Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee (DEI) will host its inaugural event: I Have a Dream 2020 at 5:30 pm, in the Groton Public Library’s Courtyard.

In recognition of the 58th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s iconic speech, the event is a showcase of the dynamic local voices honoring Dr. King’s legacy through various genres such as poetry, song, and sermon. The event carries particular significance this year given today's social climate. Attendance is limited and therefore registration is required. COVID-19 social distancing practices will be implemented and masks are mandatory.

The DEI Committee celebrates the uniqueness of each individual in our community, believes that developing cross-cultural empathy is vital to Groton’s future, and is dedicated to creating and maintaining an environment that welcomes and celebrates Groton’s diversity.
