Every month the paintings, photography, sculpture and other creative crafts are displayed in the Helen Gould Room located directly off the main foyer, and in the Lower Lobby display cases. We are pleased to present the following exhibitions:

May:  Young local artists inspired by our local environment have created a body of artwork to show their love, appreciation, and support of the flora and fauna that call Hampton Bays and the surrounding areas home. Under the direction of local artist, Carolyn Munaco, students have created art using many mediums on canvas, paper, wood, and found objects. In this month’s exhibit is a group of repurposed buoys painted by students of Carolyn’s during Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Marine Youth Education Programs at the Southampton Town’s Tiana Bayside Facility. An Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, May 3 from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Helen Gould Room. 

June:  The dynamic duos, mother & daughter, Carolyn Munaco and Lindsey Haines along with childhood sweethearts, Becky Rosko and Steven ‘Bedford’ Brown come together in art this month to celebrate and share their passion for the natural coastal environment that surrounds us. An Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, June 7 from 2:00-4:00 pm in the Helen Gould Room.

In March Hampton Bays households will receive an invitation in the mail to participate in the US 2020 Census; every household will have the option of responding online, by mail, or by phone. As a 2020 Census Partner the Library will provide computers for you to file online. Why is the 2020 Census important? Our community benefits the most when the Census counts everyone. Responding to the 2020 Census helps us get our fair share of federal funds for schools, hospitals, roads, public works, and other vital programs.

Important 2020 Census dates On or between: You’ll receive:

March 12-20 An invitation to respond online to the 2020 Census (some households will also receive paper questionnaires). When completing the Census, you will include everyone living in your home on April 1, 2020.
