Ledyard Historical Society Open Archive
Ledyard Historical Society – Janice W. Bell Historical Research Room
at the Bill Library

On the first Saturday of the month we welcome curious visitors, historical and genealogical inquiries, and the donation or loan of items for digitization.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with scanning and other projects in the Bell Room. Would you be able to give a couple hours a week or a month to help preserve our community’s story? We can use your help with non-computer related work as well as digitizing.

Need a safe home for family history items that may not interest younger generations? We can provide that home, and will give you a digital copy. (We can even arrange for items to be kept private until a future date of your choosing.)

Your Gales Ferry and Ledyard memories will be added to the archive in the Janice W. Bell Historical Research Room at the Bill Library.

We will scan them and return to you with a digital copy placed on your flash drive. Digital copies are easy to share with far-flung family members, or use as a back-up if the original is lost or damaged.

The room is also open on Mondays from 1:30 PM to 4 PM, or by appointment. Contact Andrea Buka at research@ledyardhistory.org or 860-464-9912 (Bill Library) for more information.
