Mindfulness can help you deal with stress in healthy ways, improve communication, and reduce conflicts with family and friends. Come join us for some mindfulness techniques, strategies, and methods to be self-aware, be in the moment and enjoy it.
“Being a teen is stressful! Whether it's school, friends, or dating, the teen years are full of difficult changes-both mentally and physically. If you’re like many teens, you may have difficulty dealing with stress in effective ways. You aren't alone, and there are things you can do to stay calm, no matter how stressful life becomes. All you need to do is stop, breathe, and be mindful and aware in the present moment. One of the best things about mindfulness is that…[t]here are so many ways to live a more mindful life. Mindfulness is beyond just sitting meditations or yoga practices.” –The Mindful Teen.
Ages 11-18. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link. You will receive the link in the email you use for registration half an hour before the program begins. Please email Lauren at lfox@noblenet.org with any questions.

More about Dawn: Life Worth Cooking is a collection of thoughts and recipes created by Dawn Marie. A self-proclaimed Food Network taught chef, Dawn’s recipe inspirations come from a collection of her life’s experiences such as fashion school (presentation is everything!), various jobs in the restaurant industry, traveling to other countries and, interestingly enough, internships with reality stars. Pairing that with having friends and family from multiple cultures has all influenced the food she enjoys making to become an eclectic mix of fusion and comfort. Most importantly, her culinary training from hours and hours of tuning in to Food Network (seriously, its pretty much on all day in her house).
Motivated by the meditative nature of cooking and of course eating, Dawn's kitchen is her restorative escape, a place of solace. Cooking gives her the opportunity to express herself, take creative risks and discover new foods. For Dawn, food has become a grounding force, intrigued by the vast diversity of flavor. Previously her passion for food was only shared with her family and close friends but now Life Worth Cooking is her opportunity to share her passion with others.

Part Two: Undoing Bias by Hollaback, Inc.
Everyone holds implicit biases. That doesn’t make us “bad people,” it just means that we have work to do. This interactive training will teach you how to understand and begin to undo your own implicit biases. We’ll start by learning the brain science behind implicit bias, and how the part of the brain that used to protect us now holds us back. Through polls, brief thought experiments, and journaling, we’ll reflect on how implicit bias can show up in our actions and the impacts those biases can have on ourselves and our teams. Then we’ll roll our sleeves up and get to work, practicing three concrete ways that you can begin to undo bias in your own life. You’ll leave more confident in your ability to see and undo bias. If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.
For more information on Hollaback, visit https://www.ihollaback.org/
You will be emailed a link to the webinar the week of the event. Space is limited. Register to attend.
This series is a sponsored in collaboration with the AHL Diversity Work Group: The Town of Lynnfield, Lynnfield for Love, The Lynnfield Public Library, The Lynnfield Anti-Racist League, The Lynnfield Clergy Collaborative.

Massachusetts Serial Killers is a two-part slideshow/lecture in which methods of criminal profiling are discussed along with three historical cases of serial murder in Massachusetts.
Part one of the lecture examines the mind of a serial killer through the knowledge gained in the profiling field by such men as John Douglas and Robert Reisler of the FBI's Behavior Analysis Unit. The talk will touch on the two different types of serial killers and also the four categories. There will also be a short discussion on crime scene examination and differentiate the M.O. of a killer from his or her signature.
Part two of the will focus on three Massachusetts serial killers; Thomas Piper, the "Boston Belfry Murderer," Albert DeSalvo, the so-called "Boston Strangler," and Kenneth Hanson, known as the "Giggler."
There will be a discussion at the end of the talk where the audience after examining the crimes and the crime scenes, can try to determine what type and category each killer fit into as well as identifying the M.O. and signature of the killers. At the end of this discussion, the audience will be given the essential facts of one of the most notorious unsolved serial killings in Massachusetts history (without revealing which one) and attempt to develop a basic profile on the killer.
Presenter: Christopher Daley

Part Three: Stakes Are High: Meeting the Urgency of This Moment with Raul Hernandez, Boston University
A nation struggles to battle a global pandemic and at the same time undo centuries of systemic racism, all while adjusting to one of the most consequential elections in its history. It sounds like something out of a sci-fi novel, but this is our reality. For some, the impacts of this moment are mostly viewed through our phones and televisions. However, for others, the pain is much closer to home and the stakes are much higher. This workshop will focus on how we as individuals and collectively through our work can meet this moment with the urgency that it requires, especially for the people who are counting on us most. What makes for a great garden? With beautifully photographed showcase gardens as our examples, we will explore and dissect garden design and the hardscape and softscape elements that make a design shine. We will discuss how you can come up with a concept plan for your own yard and ways you can modify and incorporate some of those grand themes seen in showcase gardens into a scale suitable for your own backyard, your pocketbook and your schedule. This presentation is great for both gardeners and for those who want to broaden their appreciation for great landscape design.
