Pop Up Art School: Canvas Painting for Teens

Teachers from Pop Up Art School will guide you step by step as you create a dramatic underwater scene. Looking up from the ocean floor, you will see silhouettes of a coral reef and sealife, leading up to a burst of sunlight. No matter your level of experience, you will leave with a unique and beautiful work of art. 

Open to teens in grades 6-12. Space is limited and registration is required.

Whether you use Coca-cola, lemon juice, rainwater or tea with your powder is up to you, as is the distinct mix of essential oils. Learn how to roll and fill your own cone – then take it home to use for later, along with Mandy's own "Little Henna Workbook."

Chef Liz Barbour is a cooking instructor who has taken her years of food service experience and created her own successful cooking business, The Creative Feast. Her cooking history includes work as a waitress, gourmet deli manager, line cook, chef, caterer, cooking instructor, and cookbook author. During this program Liz will share stories and answer questions about her journey into the food world. Following her presentation and Q & A, Liz will demonstrate and offer samples of 2 recipes that any teen will be able to make at home!

Decorate 3 cupcakes that represent the Summer Reading theme: Libraries Rock! Can you make a turntable out of an Oreo? Can you turn cupcakes into a drum kit, or write your favorite lyrics in frosting? We can't wait to see what you create!

Everyone will vote for their favorites in three categories: Most Creative, Most Musical, and Best Overall. The winners get a prize, and everyone gets to eat!

All supplies will be provided-- just bring your creativity! Open to grades 6-12. Pre-registration is required so we can be sure to have enough supplies.
