Managing Pain: Alternative Approaches

When it comes to pain relief, you have choices: know what they are and how to access them.

  • Learn about pain medications (opioids) such as Vicodin, Oxycontin, and Codeine
  • Find alternatives to pain management: acupuncture, yoga, physical therapy, chiropractics, massage, and meditation
  • Gain insight into prescription medicine misuse and safety

Drop in any time between 2-5pm, and visit our Mailbox Activity Station!  Write a postcard to your friendly librarian (or anyone you know), then decorate it with markers, rubber stamps, and stickers!  Add a diy stamp and place it in our toy mailbox. “Mail” will be collected at 5pm and displayed in the Children’s Department.  Each week will have a different writing prompt to get you started, but you can write about whatever you'd like.

Create a snapping monster with upcycled materials!

A perfect summer art project making chimes to blow in the summer breeze!

We’ll paint upcycled materials and wooden beads.  Then string them with colored laces and large jingle bells to create beautiful hanging chimes.

*Although partially separated, this room is not soundproof and ongoing noise can be heard in the library where other visitors and staff are present. We ask caregivers to stay aware and monitor their noise and activity levels.
