6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

In recent years, estate planning has evolved substantially from its traditional roots. These changes present not only challenges to overcome, but also new opportunities for you and your loved-ones. Please join us for an informational seminar outlining some of the issues and potential ways that an estate plan can evolve to address them. Presented by attorneys from Stark & Stark.

Poetry Circle: Robert Hayden
7:00 PM

Robert Hayden (1913 – 1980) was an American poet, essayist, and educator. He was the first African-American poet to hold the office as Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress from 1976 to 1978, a role today known as US Poet Laureate.
Robert Hayden has often been praised for his work of crafting poems, the unique perspectives in his work, his exact language, and his absolute command of traditional poetic techniques and structures. He was a man as gifted in humanity as he was in poetry. As the poet of perfect pitch, he is a master at capturing the black hero in his poetry. These universal and lyrical poems convey a wisdom, compassion, and yearning for the oneness of mankind that is the poet’s own. Registration is suggested.

  • How to identify your retirement goals, and more importantly, prioritize them based on what matters most to you.
  • Techniques for building a portfolio aligned to your priorities—leveraging a range of solutions including a balanced portfolio of investments, fixed income and annuities.

Morning Book Club: Unsheltered, by Barbara Kingsolver
10:00 AM

In her insightful and politically charged new novel, Barbara Kingsolver finds deep resonances between the Victorian era’s attitudes towards science, and our own. This is the compulsively readable story of two families, in two centuries, who live at the corner of Sixth and Plum in Vineland, New Jersey, navigating what seems to be the end of the world as they know it. With history as their tantalizing canvas, these characters paint a startlingly relevant portrait of life in precarious times when the foundations of the past have failed to prepare us for the future. Registration is suggested.
