You may repeat books as often as you like.  You can reach 365 books in a year if you read every night; 730 books in two years; and 1,095 books in three years. ABC Play is an unstructured play and learn period that has letter-learning toys to promote early literacy. These rotating materials will be out in the youth department near the Library's Picture Books and Early Readers.

We have: magnetic letters, block sets, flash cards and phonics sets, snap and learn letter sets, felt board alphabets, carpet squares, chalk boards and beading letters.
It is for caregivers and children ages 1-5.

Registration is not required, drop in any time during the hour.  Cleanup begins an hour after start time.

Mailbox Mondays Activity Station, K-5th Gr.

Drop in any time between 3-5pm, and visit our Mailbox Activity Station! 

Use the weekly writing prompt to write a postcard for a librarian.  Add some color with markers, rubber stamps, and stickers, then put a stamp on it and place it in our “mailbox.” “Mail” will be collected at 5pm and displayed in the Children’s Department.  

Suitable for children ages 5-10, with adult supervision.

This chess club is a session of informative learning about several aspects of chess. This club will be an opportunity for student learners to gain a tactical advantage over their opponents by applying logical strategies. The strategies can be applied in the opening, middle, and end phases of the game. They will also be introduces to traditional weaknesses in pawn positions. After in-depth knowledge of the strategies provided, students would be ready to play in local tournaments.

Join us for a new monthly program for toddlers, preschoolers (and older!)  Each month, children will get to explore their creativity with a hands-on, open-ended art project using a variety of paints, markers, crayons, glue, and more! 

No two masterpieces will look the same and children may work at their own pace (projects make take 10 – 30 minutes depending on the child).  Let your child’s imagination soar (and most importantly, have fun!)

This month's project is: Cardboard Tube 3D Sculptures!

This chess club is a session of informative learning about several aspects of chess. This club will be an opportunity for student learners to gain a tactical advantage over their opponents by applying logical strategies.
