This chess club is a session of informative learning about several aspects of chess. This club will be an opportunity for student learners to gain a tactical advantage over their opponents by applying logical strategies. The strategies can be applied in the opening, middle, and end phases of the game. They will also be introduces to traditional weaknesses in pawn positions. After in-depth knowledge of the strategies provided, students would be ready to play in local tournaments. 

You must bring your own chess board

No registration required. Space is limited to the first 24 students. Please arrive on time.

Volunteers will also assist students in preparing for science competitions including the Science Bowl and Science Olympiad. Chess Club (Ages 7-14)

This chess club is a session of informative learning about several aspects of chess. This club will be an opportunity for student learners to gain a tactical advantage over their opponents by applying logical strategies. The strategies can be applied in the opening, middle, and end phases of the game. They will also be introduces to traditional weaknesses in pawn positions. After in-depth knowledge of the strategies provided, students would be ready to play in local tournaments. 

You must bring your own chess board

No registration required. Space is limited to the first 24 students. Please arrive on time.

The goal of the Science Enrichment Program is to help middle and upper elementary school students understand concepts in chemistry, physics, earth science and biology. Volunteers will also assist students in preparing for science competitions including the Science Bowl and Science Olympiad. General questions will be addressed and topics of interest will be discussed where they require more clarity.
