Amateur genealogist Elana Broch will share the experience she gained while researching the story of  her grandfather, Saul Lichtman, who died in 1941. Her genealogical quest took her to the IAJGS conference in Poland and a visit to the Jewish Historical Society in Warsaw may have provided the missing link to the wealth of information available via Jewish Records Indexing-Poland. Registration is suggested.

Friday Morning Bookies: Normal People by Sally Rooney

Adult Program

At school Connell and Marianne pretend not to know each other. He's popular and well-adjusted, star of the school football team, while she is lonely, proud, and intensely private. But when Connell comes to pick his mother up from her job at Marianne's house, a strange and indelible connection grows between the two teenagers - one they are determined to conceal. A year later, they're both studying at Trinity College in Dublin. Marianne has found her feet in a new social world while Connell hangs at the sidelines, shy and uncertain. Throughout their years at university, Marianne and Connell circle one another, straying toward other people and possibilities but always magnetically, irresistibly drawn back together. As she veers into self-destruction and he begins to search for meaning elsewhere, each must confront how far they are willing to go to save the other.

The Truth about Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking is commonly regarded as one of the most pressing human rights issues of our time. New Jersey is a hub of human trafficking because it’s easily accessible via Interstate 95, and is also susceptible because of hosting a major tourist destination, Atlantic City, as well as its proximity to New York City and Philadelphia. This program will bring community awareness of the types of trafficking, how we can recognize the signs of a victim, how we can talk to our children about this issue and most importantly what to do if you suspect a person is a victim.

Presented by NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking.

Registration requested.

NJCAHT is a statewide coalition made up of more than 100 diverse organizations and many individuals committed to END SLAVERY IN NJ. For more information about events, donations, or to become a member of the NJ Coalition Against Human Trafficking, visit our website at www.njhumantrafficking.org.
