Learn how to play chess and understand most fundamental chess principles with Nolan DeMott! You'll learn how to set up the board properly, the rules of the game (i.e. how different pieces move), basic rule nuances such as castling, and the difference between checkmate and stalemate. By the end of this 9 week session, you should understand most fundamental chess principles such as proper piece development (i.e. minor pieces before major pieces), piece values, controlling the center, undefended pieces, trading when ahead and basic tactical ideas (i.e. pins, skewers, forks).
