The instructions are conducted through remote connection software, which allows the teacher to connect from her personal computer to your computer at home or at a computer in the Library. The Teacher is able to see your screen and even control your mouse and keyboard!

The courses range from the beginner’s Computer Basics to the intermediate users’ Microsoft Excel and Google Drive.  Begin with the basics or test out and go directly to any intermediate course.  This flexible student driven curriculum is engineered to your specific needs and style.

Class sessions are conducted and scheduled by appointment only.

We are partnering with the Norristown NAACP, the Montgomery County Immunization Coalition, ACLAMO, and East Norriton Pharmacy to host a COVID-19 & Flu Vaccine Clinic at the main library!

Pfizer, Moderna and J&J Vaccine will be available as a 1st, 2nd or Booster dose for those eligible. Flu shots available as well, including the senior high dose flu shot.

Pfizer is available for 12 and older. Moderna and J&J are available for 18 and older. COVID-19 vaccine 3rd doses will be based on current CDC guidelines. Flu shots are available for 9 and older.

Want to improve your computer skills but feel that you need personal instruction? Then we have good news for you! The Library is pleased to announce free one-on-one instruction of our Computer Lab Computer Classes over the internet!

The instructions are conducted through remote connection software, which allows the teacher to connect from her personal computer to your computer at home or at a computer in the Library. The Teacher is able to see your screen and even control your mouse and keyboard!

Take and Make: Graveyard Terrarium

Take and Make: Graveyard Terrarium

 

Teens grades 6-12. Pickup starts Monday, October 11 

Teens, join us for Take and Makes! Each Take and Make kit will include all you need for a craft project you can do at home. For this Take and Make you’ll get a kit to make a graveyard terrarium, perfect for Halloween.

What you’ll get in your kit:

Zoom class will run approximately one hour.
Registration begins Tuesday, January 25.


Live guided instruction will be provided by teacher Anita Thompson.
Space is limited to 15-20 children per session.
Each child will receive an art supply kit before each program.

BEFORE YOU REGISTER: Please be sure that your child wants to participate and is available for a Zoom meeting on the scheduled date/time. Art supply kits that are taken home cannot be returned and given to someone else if you cancel your child’s registration. We will email you when it is time to pick up your child’s kit at Abington Free Library.

You’ve placed your request and you’ve been notified that your item(s) are ready for you, now it’s time to schedule a curbside pickup appointment. (Walkers and bikers welcome.)  Schedule an appointment online below or call 215-885-5180 and press 5 for the Circulation Department.  ​Appointments must be scheduled at least four hours in advanced of the desired time.  Your reserved items will be checked out to you ahead of your scheduled appointment. 

CURBSIDE PICKUP HOURS: 
Tuesdays: 10:00 a.m. – noon, 2:00 -4:00 p.m., and 5:30 -7:30 p.m.
Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. – noon, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 10:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. 

Make one appointment.  If more than one item is ready for you, or if items arrive after you make the appointment, we will include them in your bag.

Do you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment?  Schedule a new appointment, then let us know which appointment you will miss. 

When you arrive at the library, please park your vehicle in the designated parking spots next to the handicapped spots at the front of the building. Wearing a mask, come into the lobby to pick up your Curbside items. They will be in a bag labeled with the first three letters of your last name and the last four numbers of your phone number, and placed on a cart by the entrance. 

If you have items to return, place them in the outside Book Drops (it is not necessary to bag items being put in the drops). Library materials may not be returned inside the library with the exception of those which are labeled “Return to a library staff member at the Circulation Desk.” 

Curbside Pickup is self-serve.

Appointments must be made more than four hours in advance; a warning message will display if the appointment time selected is full.
