The Main Library is kicking off the annual Adult Summer Reading Program on June 18th from 2-4 pm with the event, Local Authors Day @ MC-NPL! This hybrid event will be held simultaneously in-person in the Community Room and online via Zoom.

This special Painting Class will be led by visiting instructor Ms. Svetlana. Students will listen to the story about a man visiting the riverbank and seashore for his weekend holiday. While "accompanying" the main character, children will be introduced to famous artworks by Cassatt, Gauguin, Glackens, and Seurat. They will have a chance to discuss the paintings, noticing (among other things) the colors of the water. For every two hours you read or have been read to, you get a free book and a chance to win one of our many great prizes, including a Nintendo Switch, Pokemon basket, bicycle, drone, and more! Pokemon Club fans can use this time to casually meet to trade cards, battle, and talk about all things Pokemon! (Please note that no activities will be provided by staff during this time. Crafts and activities will only take place during Pokemon Club on Wednesday afternoons.) Ages 6-12. Drop in.
