Screening of Through the Red Door
Through the Red Door by the South County Filmmakers

The South County Filmmakers’ (SCF) latest production, Through the Red Door, was an official selection of two film festivals, the Mystic (CT) International Film Festival and Rhode Island’s 401 FilmFest.

This short film asks the question, Is it real or is it not? A comedy/satire, the movie depicts a colorful, alternate reality which frequently mirrors the absurdities of our current times. The camera moves through a realm of stunning locations. Characters are familiar yet surreal, Tea Parties become great again, and rules no longer apply!
All members of the production team are from Rhode Island. Filmed entirely in South County, the film was written and directed by two members of the SCF, Kate Marion and Anita Russo. The cinematographer, Rajah Samaroo, hails from Pawtucket.
The SCF is a group of about 10 amateur filmmakers who began creating films about four years ago. The SCF is a RI non-profit organization that produces movies from the ground up, beginning with a concept and ending with a premiere! Through the Red Door is the club’s fourth film. They are based in Wakefield and Narragansett. New members are always welcome. Contact: southcountyfilmmakers@gmail.com.
There are 45 spaces available.

Revisit Your Neighborhood with Dr. Ed

Dr.Ed Iannuccilli has written another book in series that chronicle providence in the 40s & 50.  The latest, My Story Continues; From Neighborhood to Junior High School takes up where "What Ever happened to Sunday Dinner" leaves off.  As one reader puts it: "Reading the stories of Ed's childhood in the Italo-American section of Providence has been a refreshing reminder of the simple, yet vastly fulfilling, lives that were lived by our parent and grandparents not so long ago. I loved reading about his close-knit extended family and wide circle of friends and neighbors (some very colorful indeed!) and how his childhood was shaped by those beautiful people. Ed's words are eloquent, witty and heartfelt and as such, a real pleasure to read. I pray Ed keep writing !!"

There will be books available for purchase.
