Art Exhibit: Pli by Pascale Lord

Pascale Lord - Hope“Pli,” an exhibit of acrylic paintings and mixed media works by Pascale Lord, will be on display at the Nashua Public Library from March 2 to 30.

Over the years, the artist says, canvas has come to represent a woman’s skin to her, to which she adds wrinkles, lines, and pleats. (“Pli,” the title of the exhibit, is the French word for “fold.”)

“As women,” she explains, “we have to accept that our body, our skin, is changing, modifying, reflecting traces of time or hardship and aging. Perfection is a myth, but beauty can reveal itself in different ways.”

The exhibit may be viewed during regular library hours. In addition, the artist will hold a reception on Thursday, March 14, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
