Cruising NH History: New Hampshire's Roadside Historical Markers

Friends of the Library Annual MeetingCruising New Hampshire History: A Guide to New Hampshire's Roadside Historical Markers by Michael A. Bruno, book jacket, shows Mount Washington Hotel and a historical marker about it

All are welcome! The Friends will hold a brief business meeting at 7 pm, immediately followed by the presentation.

Michael Bruno, author of Cruising New Hampshire History, brings us on a virtual visit to some of the Granite State's 255 roadside historical markers. These markers commemorate significant events and individuals, from the first settlers arriving in 1623 to notable individuals who helped define what New Hampshire is today.

Holiday Pies: Sweet and Savory

Making pies isn’t as hard as you might think! Chef Liz Barbour will talk about the history of pies; how to make tender, flaky crusts; and what sweet and savory fillings to use. She’ll demonstrate how to make the perfect pie crust and then create two sample pies. Don’t miss this tasty class! 

Liz Barbour, owner of The Creative Feast, has been cooking professionally in the Boston area throughout her career. Liz's cooking demonstrations and recipes have been featured on New Hampshire Chronicle, Channel 9’s Cooks Corner and in various publications including New Hampshire Magazine and New Hampshire Home. In 2017, Liz published her first cookbook Beautifully Delicious: Cooking with Herbs & Edible Flowers.
