Dreams for MVP
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

-

A great way to meet other singles and ideal for married couples too! Come learn about a new nonprofit which started right here in New Hampshire! Dreams for MVP assist poverty-stricken members of our servicemen including Military, Veterans, Police, Public Safety and their families. When other nonprofits say "no", we here at Dreams for MVP say "YES".

Come learn how Dreams for MVP is clearly different than any other nonprofit and it is unlike any other out there while this mission also helps keep YOUR community safer.  In the meantime view the website Dreamsformvp.org to get a basic understanding of it's mission. Dreams for MVP seeks volunteers which could turn into leadership positions. This is a start-up which means your fundraising ideas will help our mission grow and you grow with us! There is no greater pride than to assist our community members in a pay-it-forward system where you will also be part of helping your own community stay safer while meeting new people. It just doesn't get better than that!

Trouble in the Presidentials
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Early on February 15, 2015, Kate Matrosova, a 32-year-old avid mountaineer, set out to traverse the Northern Presidential Range in the White Mountains, known for “the world's worst weather.” Late the following day, despite the efforts of over 40 expert search-and-rescue personnel and Kate’s foresight in packing a rescue beacon and satellite phone, her frozen body was carried out of the challenging terrain. What went wrong? Ty Gagne, author of Where You’ll Find Me: Risk, Decisions, and the Last Climb of Kate Matrosova, offers some answers to that question and discusses what we can learn about risk analysis and decision-making from this and other mountaineering accidents.

Until Help Arrives
5:00 PM - 9:00 PM

A FREE Until Help Arrives course is being offered on Wednesday, January 25th from 6-9pm. The training covers a number of key areas including how citizens can effectively communicate with 9-1-1 operators, stay safe in a dangerous situation, stop life-threatening bleeding, position the injured, and provide emotional support.  With these basic skills, citizens can play a part in being a part of the solution during an emergency. While emergency services are right around the corner in Nashua, this program teaches the important actions that can be taken prior to professionals arriving. Please note that due to the graphic nature of the course, participants should be at least 13 years of age.

Register online at http://www.nashuanh.gov/UHA.
