Finalizing a College Plan

In this workshop, participants will gain information on the “final steps” they will encounter along their way in finalizing their post-secondary school plans. Specifically, they will:

·         Map out their remaining months of their high school career and summer break in order to properly prepare for freshman year of college

·         Gain insight as to which resources are available and  how to utilize these resources

·         Create various back-up plans to ensure a realistic post-secondary school plan

Pet Shrinky Dink Grab-and-Go

Check out his tutorial + learn how to make awesome shrinky dinks featuring your pets! (Or your favorite image).  Just trace, color, cut + shrink in your oven!  Video will premiere today at 10AM.

Kits include: Shrinky dink paper, key chain, a necklace, jump rings, + an animal-themed charm! Patrons can also use the paper to create whatever they’d like!

What is needed: Scissors, sharpies and/or colored pencils, an oven (standard or toaster oven)

North Babylon School District residents only.  Grades 6-12.

Belmont Lake State Park: Historical Nature Walking Tour

Come out for a tour at Belmont Lake State Park! The park might be known for the beautiful lake and abundance of recreation, but there is so much more to be discovered on trails less traveled. Established in 1926, it was owned by August Belmont and served as farmland for some of Belmont's equestrian activities. Home to a significant wetland complex, waterfowl that can be easily spotted include Northern Shovelers, Mergansers, Teal, Great Blue Heron, and Egrets. 

The $4 per person tour fee is courtesy of the Library. Space is limited - please sign up individually with your own North Babylon Library card.
