Poems from All Over: Alan Feldman Reads from Immortality and The Golden Coin
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

http://downloads.newtonfreelibrary.net/programs/EK%20images/06_2017/wx06_22_Program_Poetry_with_Alan_Feldman__cover_by_Bill_Zavatsky.jpgJoin Alan Feldman, winner of the 2016 Massachusetts Book Award for Poetry, as he reads from Immortality and the manuscript for his upcoming book, The Golden Coin (winner of this year’s Four Lakes Prize). Against the backdrop of his wife’s paintings which will be on view in the Gallery throughout June, Mr. Feldman will share poems based on travel to places such as Uruguay, France, Mexico, Turkey and Cyprus. Not unlike his wife, artist Nan Hass Feldman, he’s often inspired by things he learns as they travel. Feldman hopes that in an era of “America First” his poems from all over will help us increase our sense of who we really are on this planet, which, as his own life has demonstrated, is getting rather small and intimate.
