Anime/Manga Club

Grade 5/6 Book Discussion

Kids in grades 5-6 and their parents come together to talk about a new book each month.All are expected to read the book in advance in order to discuss it together in the book group.  We meet once a month on 9/12, 10/10, 11/14, 12/12, 1/9, 2/13, 3/13, 4/10, 5/8, and 6/12..  Online registration (required) begins on Tuesday, June 20 . When you register, you register at the same time for ALL 10 months.

Forensic Science Road Show

Time to be Sherlock Holmes! Venture into the world of CSI with this interactive program that introduces you to the fascinating subject of forensic science. Subjects include: finding fingerprints on evidence; testing for blood; footwear impressions; using a metal detector; and detection of evidence using the crime light.  For tweens in grades 5-7.

Wayne Thiebaud Cake Sculptures
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Create a sculptural piece of “cake”! (Sorry you can’t eat it.) Inspired by artist Wayne Thiebaud’s luscious images of desserts we will make a three-dimensional slice of cake using everyday materials: cardboard, masking tape and paint. Use your creativity to personalize your slice of cake.  For tweens entering grades 6-8.  Online registration (required) begins on Saturday, June 30th.
