Lisa Goren is inspired by the clarity she has seen in her travels to both poles. In all of these paintings the background noise of global warming is present, making even superstructures vulnerable. The balance of fragility and strength of frozen worlds mirrors the balance between water and ice.

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the library? We will be offering several tours each month that will:

  • Show you where and how we process new materials
  • Introduce you to some of our talented staff members that help make the library a special part of the community
  • Get you up close to the sorter machine
  • Fill you in on some of the little known details of our wonderful library
  • Tours last approximately one hour, meet inside the parking lot entrance

Learn about French language and culture in a conversation club that is geared towards adults with intermediate speaking skills. This is an opportunity for you to increase your vocabulary and to practice speaking French in a friendly environment. Alors, parlons français! A native of France, the club facilitator, Magali, joined the amazing ELL program at the library in 2014.
