Kenneth Saxon Performs Bolivian Works and Rachmaninoff Preludes
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

http://downloads.newtonfreelibrary.net/programs/EK%20images/07_2017/wx07_06_Concert_Kenneth_Saxon.jpgJoin pianist Kenneth Saxon for a delightful summer's eve concert. The program will include some striking and rarely heard Bolivian works—Cuecas by Simeon Roncal—a set of exquisite miniatures that combine the exotic glamour of Spanish music with the rustic charm of Andean folk dances. The Bolivian works will be offset with preludes by Rachmaninoff to create a vivid contrast for the audience and an interesting entry point for listeners to compare and contrast their own experience of each. The second half of the performance will feature the Schumann Fantasy, Op. 17. Mr. Saxon will introduce each piece withI brief anecdotes or stories about his experiences with the compositions.
