Come and enjoy a half hour of fun with your baby! We'll share songs, finger plays, stories, and rhymes. Meet other parents and their babies, and enjoy some special time together. This program is intended for babies ages 0-18 months and will be held on Tuesdays, May 1-June 5, except for Tuesday, May 15 for Election Day. Registration is required.

There are many spaces available.

Registration is required, in person or by telephone. Please include the specific topics you need assistance with during registration.

Pine-Richland Makerspace

What is the Makerspace and what will it offer? Our goal is to engage our community in an interactive way. Open Monday through Thursday, 2:30-5:30 PM, at Northern Tier Library's Pine Center located in Pine-Richland High School, the Makerspace will encourage users to do arts, crafts, woodworking, sewing, and other projects. This space was made possible thanks to contributions by the Mae Dreier Memorial Fund and the Sprout Fund.

PR Makerspace: Screen Printing at the Library
5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Join us for some art exploration and discovery at the library! We will be working on creating our own sreen prints. You can make your own design and print it on acid-free paper or a t-shirt. Paper, paint and screens will be provided. You can bring your own blank t-shirt to print here as well. For ages 5 and up, and all family members are welcome to attend. Registration is required.

Improv for Kids!
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Theater games are for anyone looking to improve confidence, gain focus, and add positivity into their daily life. While having fun and making new friends, children will improve their listening skills, collaborate with peers, and spark their imaginations. Sheri Ward leads this one-hour workshop helping children learn to unlock their inner creativity in a fun and supportive place.

Kids ages 6-12 years are invited to this free workshop. No experience is needed, but registration is required.

Basic Microsoft Office: Word & Excel

Learn how to create basic Word documents as well as tips and tricks associated with Microsoft Word. You will also learn how to create a monthly household budget using Microsoft Excel.

We will be using the 2016 Microsoft Office versions for this class.

Advanced registration is required. If possible, please bring your own laptop to the class as there are a limited number of library laptops available.

Safety Skills Workshop

Join us for a fast and fun introduction to self-defense! In this class we will explore a variety of skills and strategies to help increase our personal safety, including:

  • Developing awareness skills
  • Listening to our intuition
  • Physical and verbal boundary setting
  • Image and attitude projection
  • Using our powerful voices
  • How (and where) to strike for maximum power
  • Simple but effective physical techniques

This empowering and practical workshop taught by Mona MacDonald, co-owner of Lioness Martial Arts, is for everyone ages 16 and up. No experience or athletic ability is needed! Just wear comfortable clothing and athletic/soft-soled shoes. There is a fee of $15 for this class and advance registration is required.
