Hey teens! Join us at the Pine Center located in Pine-Richland High School, for the beginning of each week for Maker Mondays. Librarians and volunteers will be present to help create projects related to arts, crafts, electronics, sewing, and more!

On April 23: Recycled Material Baskets

Weave a small basket using recycled paper.

This class will be held in the upstairs meeting room on April 23.

Zumba is a strong cardio and muscular workout, incorporating dances such as merengue, salsa, hip hop, and belly dancing. Classes will be held on Mondays, March 5-April 30. No class on Monday, April 16. A fee of $40 is charged for the series if paid in advance prior to the first class, or you can pay as you go at $7 per class. The fee must be paid at the time of registration.

American Board, formerly known as American Board for Certification of Teacher Excellence (ABCTE), is a national nonprofit organization created by the Department of Education in 2001 as an alternative path to teacher certification for working professionals. Each state partners with one or two univerisites in a specific area. Pittsburgh works with Point Park University.

Join us to learn more information about American Board, and their program that enables anyone with a bachelor's degree in any area to obtain their teaching certification in a faster and more economical way.

Would you like your garden to be in color for three seasons of the year? Find out how to do it as Master Gardener Bill Goff presents "Perennials in the Garden: Three Seasons of Color". Via a Powerpoint presentation, Mr. Goff will look closely at one perennial garden and how it changes through the growing season. Suggested plants will be recommended, and care and maintenance of the perennial border will also be discussed.

Bill Goff has been gardening in the North Hills for more than 30 years. His passion is perennials - especially daylilies, hostas, and peonies. Please join us! There is no fee, but registration is required.

Soldiers and Sailors' Museum Civil War Footlocker Program

This footlocker program is aimed at educating students grades 3 and up. A Soldier & Sailors' Museum staff member will visit the library to make a presentation about Civil War items. Each footlocker contains artifacts from the museum's collection, documents and photos that can be handled and passed around by the audience. This program is intended for students in third grade or above,  and their families. Registration is requested.
