Work with an arts educator from The Art Effect to examine emotionally complex passages in the Big Read literature. After discussion, create an abstract painting that reflects the literary landscape. No previous experience necessary. All materials supplied. Registration required.
New for this Year's Big Read program is a book club series for individuals with special needs (age 14 and older) and a parent or caregiver. Meets Thursdays October 18 - November 15. Read here for more specific information on the Club. Registration required by calling the Reference Desk at 485-3445 x3702. Register only the special needs individual. We will assume a parent or caregiver will accompany the individual.

The Hudson Valley Philharmonic’s concert features Asian influences in Stravinsky’s Song of the Nightingale and Bartok’s Miraculous Mandarin Suite. The program also includes Stringendo’s Vivace Orchestra and Kinan Azmeh, clarinetist with the Silk Road Ensemble. Pre-concert talk by Maestro Randall Craig Fleischer begins at 7 pm.
