Virtual Presentation:  Stroke is a major source of death and disability and is associated with a number of risk factors that can be modified to minimize risk of its occurrence.  We’ll look into modifiable stroke risk factors, how to address each of them, then look at how stroke presents and can be treated, from acute care to rehabilitation services. An Evening of Poetry

Featured poet Will Nixon.  Will Nixon grew up in the Connecticut suburbs, spent his young adulthood in Hoboken and Manhattan, then moved to a Catskills log cabin in 1996 complete with a wood stove and mice.  For years, he wrote environmental journalism, then turned to poetry and personal essays.  His work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and listed in Best American Essays 2004.  He now lives in Woodstock, NY with a wall thermostat for heat, but still can’t get rid of the mice.

Hygge at Home- Macrame Wall Hanging

We’re going to be “hygge”-ing the Winter away with a special set of Adult (18+) Take and Make Programs. Hygge is a Scandanavian lifestyle practice that emphasizes a quality of coziness and comfort that can manifest a feeling of contentment or well-being; it is particularly helpful during the darker, colder winter months. Supplies will be provided and links to instructional videos will be sent to registrants. Take and Make Kits are limited. Registration is required for each program. Macrame Wall Hanging - Kits will be available to pick up beginning February 8.

Macramé involves tying knots that can be very calming to the body, mind and spirit. Using a Reverse Lark’s Head Knot, you'll learn how to make a unique and decorative wall hanging.
