Brian Tervenski, retired Instructor of English, offers an approachable introduction to poetry; from Bob Dylan to William Shakespeare, Robert Frost to Ben Jonson. The goal is not, in the words of poet Billie Collins, to “tie the poem to a chair with rope and torture a confession out of it.... to find out what it really means.” The group will read as many good poems as possible and develop techniques to more fully enjoy and appreciate poetry.  We may even delve into literature such as the short stories of J.D. Salinger.

Salinger.
