Advanced Writing: Creative Non-Fiction with Kara Westerman

This is an ongoing advanced writing class for writers who have been writing for a number of years and are ready to go to the next level. We will explore personal essay, memoir and other types of creative non-fiction. This workshop will include rigorous critique to aid in editing, revision and rewriting. Through writing exercises using different authors' work as inspiration, we will explore craft, structure, and point of view. Using weekly writing prompts, participants will incorporate craft techniques for more polished writing. Size limit: 6 minimum, 14 maximum. Fee: $80. A Memorable Meal: Indian Cooking with Penn Hongthong

Penn Hongthong will return to RML to prepare and show us how to cook a delicious and simple Indian meal of Jeera Cumin Rice, Tarka Dal, Butternut Squash with Chickpeas. These healthy recipes are gluten-free and dairy-free. There will be a tasting and lemonade served at the end of the demonstration. Size limit: 40. Fee: $5. Dracula: Fiction and Reality with Gary Lutz

The Armchair Traveler: Exploring Peru with Jeannette Downes and Ellen Bialo

In April 2019, Jeannette and Ellen traveled through southeastern Peru, spending much of their time in the region of Cuzco. Situated in the Peruvian Andes, Cuzco developed under the Inca Emperor Pachacutec who conceived of and oversaw the development of Machu Picchu.
